When you are marrying a set designer, and you have an event planner for a mother, you know you are going to be taken care of when it comes to nailing down the details of your wedding day. Erin and Trevor chose the Mt. Hope Farm Barn as the backdrop for their beautifully designed reception. If you want a true definition of DIY, well this wedding is it!
The handmade details of this reception were unreal. Antique doors stood outside and on them hung keys which were tagged with names and table numbers. A perfectly placed “card box” and gift table stood next to the doors. Embroidered bean bags personalized the outdoor games.
Inside the barn hung chandeliers and delicate fabric which was strung by the groom himself. The flower boxes were also made by the handy groom, and the mother of the bride arranged all of the flowers in them herself. The bride and groom chose a mix of long tables as well as rounds for the event, and the blend looked stunning in the barn.
The food at this reception was so fitting for the theme and feel of their wedding day. It started with sparkling water and lemonade upon arrival, and passed hors d’oeuvres followed right behind. Tomato Mozzarella Skewers, Fish and Chips in newspaper cones, Campbell’s Classic, New England Clam Chowder and Clam Cakes, and Deviled Eggs…how awesome are the eggs…so old school and perfect!
A fresh Peach Bellini was served as a signature drink during cocktail hour.
The dinner menu followed the laid back and classic feel of the event. It started with a grilled corn and tomato salad. For the main course they chose to serve Braised Short Ribs, Roasted Chicken Provencal, and Funghi Ravioli in the Family Style method of service.
Dessert was a duo plate of Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes with Chocolate Dipping Sauce along with Mini Peach Crostata.
Immediately following dinner, guests were wowed with a live concert by The Barr Brothers. Two members of the band are the step brothers of the bride. If you haven’t heard of them you need to listen, they are so talented!
This reception was certainly a production, and so perfectly personal. Props to this couple (and mother of the bride) for putting together such an amazing event.
A special thanks for letting the Russell Morin Team being a part of it all.
