Chef’s tables have long been the rage for private dining at high end restaurants. The mother of one of our grooms asked us to replicate the open kitchen chef’s table for her son’s rehearsal dinner. This is a bit more challenging for a caterer because there is no kitchen to work with, but we didn’t let that stop us. Our talented Chefs chose a menu that could be cooked over natural hardwood charcoal, and made the whole Open Kitchen come to life.
The event took place in the Barn of Mt Hope Farm. Stoneblossom florists setup washed farm tables in a “U” so all the guests could watch our amazing chefs in action. As the guests were served a creative gazpacho and light summer salad we cooked the dinner below and served it family style. We even garnished the multi shaped service platters with the appropriate herbs from our garden, making it a true farm to table event.
Family Style Dinner:
Basil Lamb Brochettes with Cucumber Mint Raita
Herb Rubbed Grilled Jumbo Shrimp and New Bedford Sea Scallop Brochettes with Lemon Parsley Vinaigrette
Mediterranean Chicken Sausage Skewers
Heirloom Fingerling Potato Salad Served Warm tossed with Dijon Vinaigrette, Thyme and Lemon
Sweet Corn and Basil Risotto Cakes with Mascarpone Tomato Butter
Assorted Grilled Vegetables tossed in Balsamic and Olive Oil
Baby yellow and green Squash, baby Eggplant, Heirloom Tomatoes cut in half, Cipolini Onions
Our Groom’s mother Mrs. Gaeta was thrilled with the food, showmanship, presentation, and service provided. We were equally as excited for the challenge! Call and ask us to do your own Open Kitchen Dinner!
