PJ & Caroline’s June Wedding A Summertime Celebration at Shining Tides

PJ and Caroline tied the knot at Shining Tides, one of our exclusive venues nestled on the serene Mattapoisett Harbor. Caroline’s family has spent summer weekends in Mattapoisett since she was a child, so deciding to host her wedding in a town that holds such special meaning was easy. And icing on the cake? Proceeds from renting this venue go to a scholarship fund for children attending summer camp at the local YMCA!

The couple took full advantage of Shining Tides’ waterfront property: they sailed in to their reception, captured amazing photos on the dock and beach, and danced the night away with friends and family in a tent overlooking the water. All of our exclusive venues work wonderfully for summer weddings, but this one really excels. You just can’t beat the sparkling ocean vistas, sailboats floating by, and the soft sea breezes.

The Menu

Passed Hors D'Oeuvres

  • Pigs in a Blanket Chicago style
  • BBQ Beef Brisket Slider with pickled jalapeno slaw
  • New England Clam Chowder and Clam Cake
  • Avocado Toast and Mexican Street Corn
  • Goat Cheese Rounds with caramelized onions and wild mushrooms


  • Newport Salad: Frisée and mesclun with dried cranberries, candied walnuts, Marion Great Hill Bleu Cheese and lemon balsamic vinaigrette
  • Served with warm, hearth baked European style breads and crocks of fresh whipped butter


  • Pan Seared Local Scallops, with sun-dried tomato chardonnay cream. Served with citrus rice pilaf and roasted brussels sprouts.
  • Pan Seared Flat Iron Steak, with chive chimichurri and crispy onion. Served with purple Peruvian mashed potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts.
  • Wild Mushroom Ravioli, with sautéed mushrooms and baby spinach and madeira cream sauce. BBQ Cauliflower added for vegan / dairy allergy vegetarian guests.
