There is a delicate balance to preserving and protecting a national treasure like Mount Hope Farm. The odds of making such a unique location a success are in your favor if you can combine creative programming with the right partners and resources. Mount Hope Farm is hitting all the right chords with its new winter offering, The Farmer's Table, a pop up dining experience, hosted at the historic Governor Bradford House. It is an intimate and fine dining experience set against the elegant backdrop of the historic Bristol, Rhode Island inn. The evening comes complete with jazz piano and the option to book a guest room for the night. Savor fine food, settle in for a cozy night at the Inn and get up to a country-style breakfast the next morning. It is both a gentle and opportune way to liven up those winter months with romance and fine farm-to-table fare.
As director of the Farm, my job is to craft new ways for people to experience our buildings and grounds, and to increase the potential of our landscape to support itself through programming and community. Russell Morin, a long time Farm supporter and President of RMC+E, also seeks out opportunities that strengthens our efforts while also offering winter-time development opportunities for his dedicated chefs & staff, all of whose summer hours are (happily) "eaten up" with events across RI. A wedding at rustic Cove Cabin or special event at The Barn is always on "the menu"; but the appeal of having folks settle in for a good meal at the Inn, served in style by our good friends at Russell Morin Catering + Events, is enough to make me want to reserve a spot. Can it get any better? Absolutely.
Farm to Table is a refreshing trend that supports the growth of neighboring economies. Locally sourced menus will rotate each evening of the dining series, offering a variety of healthy, environmentally friendly alternative to the processed foods you may find at the store. The menu will feature food grown by the vendors at our year-round Mount Hope Farmers Market. This is a win-win for all involved, our guests, Mount Hope Farm, and RM Catering + Events. We predict this dining experience will become a staple of the winter season and look forward to watching it grow. Reservations are required and space if limited, call 401.254.1745 to ensure you do not miss out on this one of a kind dining opportunity.
