Choosing a private home as your event venue brings boundless potential for a bespoke and unique celebration, many times in a setting that’s sentimental to the hosts. But choosing a private residence as your event venue necessitates extra legwork and planning to ensure a seamless celebration.

Here’s a checklist to help you evaluate whether a private residence is the right venue for you. And don’t fret, our team will help evaluate and coordinate every item on this list!
- Ample space for a reception tent. Size depends on guest count, style of service, band or DJ, and the style of tables and chairs
- Adequate space for an on-site catering tent. Minimum catering cook tent size for parties of 150 or less is 20x30 feet. The catering tent must be in close proximity to the reception tent, with the ability to be fully connected in case of inclement weather.
- Space for an additional catering tent/area if cocktail hour is more than 150 feet away.
- Space for a restroom trailer, with access to water and power
- Access to lighting and power for all vendors to operate concurrently
- Access to a generator or additional power source
- Furniture rental: dining and cocktail tables, bars, welcome tables, catering tables, and chairs.
- Valet to handle guest parking if there is not ample and accessible parking on-site
- Adequate parking for all vendors on property or coordinated shuttle service for off-site parking
- Rain plan: Includes additional tenting and marquee
- Adequate budget: Our private home catering ranges from $225-$350 per person. Cost for event essentials such as restroom trailer, tables, chairs, tenting and equipment should also be factored in, which range in price based on style and size.
